CHRIS FARINA
| What was your occupation before skydiving full time? I’m a California CPA. I was the Controller at a Bio-Tech Venture Capital Firm. What are your short term and long term goals with Fury? With skydiving in general? Pay my bills and eat! Win the U.S. Nationals and represent the U.S. at the World Championships. Who have been your biggest influences in the sport and why? Mark Kirkby and Kirk Verner, for making me believe I could compete at this level and for pushing me. Jack Berke and Matt LaChance, a couple of the best teammates I’ve ever had. And, finally, Dan BC for his inspiration and constant support through all the good and bad. What fires you up about competing in FS? It’s in the name: competition. I’ve never been one to do anything half-way. I always dive in all the way. I like to see how far I can push myself and see how good I can be. |
What is your favorite moment with Fury? Some of my favorites are 2008 Shamrock competition R6, 2008 Bodyflight Challenge and U.S. Nationals R10. All of those rounds are what this is all about for me. But, I’d have to say the best moment was when I realized how much my team is there for me, after I broke my back in May 2008. What’s your personal mantra? Live Without Regret (it’s tattooed on my back) Which Fury member has the stinkiest feet? Josh What do you eat before and during a big competition? Fruit and a lot of Go Fast! What’s something most people don’t know about you? I listen to country music and almost flunked out of college my first quarter freshman year. |
